Car Seats
- Diono Radian Car Seat is used by many spica families thanks to its thin profile and low sides.
- EZ-ON-vest allows your child to travel lying down in the rear seat of a vehicle. The cons are it is very time consuming to get child in it, and the whole backseat row is taken up.
- Wallie car seat, or Wallenberg spica car seat is often used, and their website says they are currently working on a better design!
- Britax Hippo Car Seat: Though this seat is currently discontinued, sometimes hospitals may have them to rent out to spica casted kids. Check with your orthopedist to see if they do! You can also check used sites like ebay or this helpful facebook group.
Out and About
- Wagon with lots of pillows for positioning
Wheelchair- talk to your hospital and doctor about where to rent a wheelchair from locally.

Wide stroller / Jogging stroller- It’s best to wait to purchase a stroller until you see how your child is casted. Many different strollers will work, but the cast angles are all different.
