Favorite Spica Journey Memory:

How excited she was to go to the park for the first time. She went down the slide sitting on my lap and we swung on the swings. It just shows you can continue to do everyday things and enjoy it! You just have to alter it a bit.

Biggest Lesson Learned:

I spent so much time worrying my daughter would be miserable, we couldn't go do anything and she would be fussy and hard to handle. None of this happened! She was still her same happy self. Life continued as normal. Babies are so incredibly resilient!

What Do You Wish You Knew:

This time is so much harder on the parents. Babies are so resilient. It does not phase them as much as you anticipate it will. They adapt to being in the cast so quickly.

Final Thoughts or Advice:

Having a baby in a spica cast can make you feel a little cooped up and isolated at times. I found trying to get out of the house as much as possible was very beneficial. We both enjoyed the change of scenery, whether it be going to the park or walking around a store. The time in the cast does ultimately pass quite quickly!
