Watching her feet spin around dancing to music. She wanted to move and it was the only part of her legs she could.

Biggest Lesson Learned:

Babies are the most adaptable little things ever. They may have trouble sleeping at first but then it's like they don't even know the cast is there.

What Do You Wish You Knew:

That some people will ask questions about the cast when you're out in public. Try and have an answer ready, whether it's sarcastic or the truth.

Favorite Gear or Must Have Item:

Spica table, lots of small pillows for wedging places, crib wedge, Mustela waterless cleanser, spatula and cast cooler.

Final Thoughts or Advice:

"This too shall pass."  You will cry out of sadness and frustration and will look at your child and think, "how can they possibly be happy like this?" But they are, and catch onto their infectious smiles and giggles and make them your own. Most importantly trust your gut, communicate with your doctors, and absolutely be involved in a support group.
