Favorite Spica Journey Memory:

My favorite memory was when we got the first cast off and got the shorter cast on. She was kicking her legs around like crazy, made me so happy!

Biggest Lesson Learned:

How strong my daughter truly is. She was amazing through the whole process, never really grouchy. She adjusted really well.

What Do You Wish You Knew:

How difficult it would be to transport her. She didn't fit in a wagon, shopping cart or a normal car seat. Also, callus/bruises form on your hip from carrying them around.

Favorite Gear or Must Have Item:

We used leg warmers everyday. She had her Spica on during the winter. Also, we had Mustela non rinse baby wash to keep her clean. I don't know what I would have done without it.

Final Thoughts or Advice:

We found out the hard way that moleskin is something that should be used right away on the edges of the cast to prevent irritation on their skin. Cloth diapers make the best outside diaper too. Try to find a good cleanser to wipe down their diaper area. We found a natural lavender calming diaper area spray. My daughter got rashes often while in the cast.
